Melong Band Live in New York
Melong, a Tibetan rock band performing live in 2008 in New York. Melong are an astonishing group of exile Tibetans living now in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA. They play excellent Tibetan rock music, a mixture of Western rock'n roll and Tibetan folk song tradition. The band uses both, typical rock instruments like the drums and electric guitar but also traditional Tibetan instruments.
This video of a live performance in New York was recorded by an iphone and is therefore a bit challenged in technical terms. But in my view it is the best I know in terms of the musical fascination. Awesome!
